About me
Hi, I am Rolando Andrade! I am a computer engineer in constant learning and growth.
I was born on December 10th, 1998 in Caracas, Venezuela. Since I was a child I had an unbridled passion for computers, developing my first projects like video games and websites at a very early age.
Despite my love for programming, the road to engineering is long and full of ramifications. I wanted to change the world, and in that quest I did a little bit of everything. From art to some applied sciences, curiosity has always motivated me to learn and experience new challenges.
Time passed and the kid who made video games in Visual Basic, .NET, JavaScript and Unity grew up and started studying Computer Engineering at the Andrés Bello Catholic University.
Before I knew it, I was involved in dozens of events that changed my life.
Although I graduated Summa Cum Laude, what shaped me and helped me grow the most in college were the people I met and the extracurricular activities I did.
Clubs, competitions, jobs, internships, parties, etc. A myriad of experiences that I plan to develop in a series of posts on this blog.
Professionally, I have been working in software development for seven years. In these years I have been able to participate in business projects, web and mobile applications, software libraries and research projects.
I specialize in the design and implementation of complex systems, usually within the core of frameworks and libraries. I am passionate about Artificial Intelligence applied to applications, I understand that theory in AI is important, but in applications is where the usefulness lies.
Overall, I am excited to see where my journey in the tech industry takes me and I look forward to continuing to learn and grow along the way.
As for hobbies, I go to the gym every day. It's important to exercise to maintain good physical and mental health. Cardio is not my thing.
In my spare time I work on my side projects and practice some languages. I speak Spanish and fluent English. I also practice Portuguese, can read German and listen to Japanese.
On weekends I often go out and walk around the city, always discovering new places to visit. After a long day, I usually watch series and movies, play video games, read romantic books or learn with an online course.
In the near future, I would like to travel to several countries to experience the variety of places our world has to offer.
I want to live a life full of good memories and be happy. Combining my passions, family, friends and work, I am sure it will be easy to maintain this lifestyle. I hope to share it with you, see you in my next posts.
