Unlock Your Potential and Embrace Your Passions with "Me"

Unlock Your Potential and Embrace Your Passions with "Me"

Yes I know, it hasn't even been two weeks since I presented "AI José Gregorio", but these weeks have been full of inspiration that have allowed me to develop more projects at the same time. Today I want to present "Me", a very personal project that I have been using as a tool for some time, and after adding some improvements I have turned it into an app.

Me

Me is a mobile application designed to help you set and achieve your goals while discovering new things you enjoy. The application allows you to set goals and track your progress towards achieving them, providing reminders and push notifications to keep you on track.

You can start breaking down your goals into smaller steps and set deadlines for each step, with the app providing help and reminding you of your next steps.

The primary target audience for Me is individuals who are looking to set and achieve personal goals while discovering new activities they enjoy. This may include individuals who are looking to improve their health, learn a new skill, or pursue a hobby. May are you one of them?

The Origin of the Idea

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a fan of planning and organization. Like any mastermind I believe that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Among all the notes and tools I use, I had a Notion space where I put my goals, tasks, and interests, to make sure what I'm doing, why I'm doing it, if I still wanted to do it, and if I was doing what I love.

Board with some of my goals. They are usually sorted by importance, but I reordered before taking the screenshot to hide my most personal goals.

The thing is, this space was cool, but one thing I hate about Notion is that everything is there, and it is a total mess. When I wanted to review my goals, usually I had to move across the space tree to find the goals section, because recent pages and favorites is full of other pages like my blog articles or the supermarket list. I tried other apps, but I was used to my notion workflow, I really needed something similar, so I decided to start the implementation of my own app.

The Birth of "Me"

"Me" project started a few weeks ago, the idea was moving my goal setting workflow from Notion to an specific app. To achieve this, I started creating the concept on Figma where I saw the main functionalities I wanted.

Then I decided to create a short list of features and tasks to define what I have to implement for the first version of the app. After reviewing it, I selected as the main feature the setting and tracking of goals, leaving for next versions the interests and social section that you can see in the mock up.

Once I had the requirements, I started to code. I decided to use React Native, just because I do have experience with the library, and wanted to achieve this as soon as possible.

The first functionalities started to emerge, and day after day there was slight progress until the release version was reached.

The Future

The future of "Me" is promising. The next version will include an interests section where users will be able to set the things they like to do, and track the time they spend doing those things. This feature along with the Goals section will be the base to the social feature I would like to implement.

The social feature will allow users to connect depending on their interests and goals, this way people that likes the same things, or would like to accomplish something similar can talk, collaborate, and work together. The potential of this is amazing, due to the fact that almost all the social networks depends on superficial things to create connections.

After the implementation of these sections, I would focus on enhancing the main functionalities.

Your Turn

Now you have seen the story of "Me", you might want to try it. If you want to do it, download it on Google Play! I will appreciate your download and 5 stars 😜
