DEVLog - September

Hey there, it's incredible a new month has already passed. Time flies and waits for no one, so it's time to review what is new in my portfolio of projects, and what are the next things to come.

IMG Processing Release

IMG Processing has been my biggest release in months. It is a tool to integrate image processing, analysis, and edition, in applications with ease. I started its implementation two months ago, and released it three weeks ago.

It is a serious project, that solve an issue I had implementing Bezier, a diagraming tool I have been implemented for this year. However, it is also an experiment I have used to test the capabilities of technologies, integration of tools, and marketing strategies for the upcoming projects.

I have learned a lot of things, and made a lot of mistakes. I will write about them on the next posts, as I'm still learning at the time I write this, and I can't imagine solutions, for some of the problems I have faced.

Serverless Revolution
This post is not sponsored by Cloudflare or any PaaS provider I will mention here. I just want to help any developer that has a project in mind bring that project to the real world without spending a single penny. The Solo Engineer’s Life I’m Rolando Andrade, a Software Engineer

Related to this project, on October I hope adding some extra features, an integration with automations tools, and some optimizations to enhance upload times.

SignatureAPI

Despite IMG Processing is my new beloved side project. My real gig is SignatureAPI, a high volume digital signature platform released on March of this year.

This month came with three new features, being two already in production for all the customers, and one almost ready that I will keep it secret until its release.

API Playground

By the beginning of September, we discovered clients struggled to create their first envelope on the platform, so we had a lot of sign ups, but users after their sign up had almost no activity. For this reason we had the great idea of implementing a playground on the platform, with everything ready to go. The best part? It really worked, this month there is almost 0 new users with no envelopes created.

The other great feature of this month, was the integration of a public storage service like R2 or S3 for the users on the platform, so they can use their documents without making them public by urls, or other methods that are not completely private.

I Left my Teaching Position

Maybe bad news or good news, depending on how it goes in the uncertain future. I couldn't continue. I was unable to continue in my position as a professor during this semester.

Being a professor has always been one of my dreams, I did it for the last two semesters and was an awesome experience, but this semester I had to leave it. It was not an easy decision, but I have more dreams and desires, and I could no longer endure the weight of teaching in a nation that, in its own way, was expelling me. I'm trying to stay, but the country only give me reasons to leave...

This isn’t the end, merely a pause. My spirit yearns to educate, to inspire. A new chapter is being written. I will continue teaching and helping others. It is my passion anyway. I will find a way.

I am studying the possibility of becoming a YouTuber, teach people around the world giving them life-changing lectures. Let's see how it goes and I let you know what I decide.

The Future

My blog has came to live again. From know on I will take it more seriously since its discoverability and reach has increased a lot in the past months, and I will try to use it as an script and draft of ideas that perhaps one day will become videos on a social network. Who knows?

On the other hand, I have more projects and features to announce, I expect great things in October. I will keep learning with IMG Processing experience, releasing features with SignatureAPI, and develop side projects to make a difference.
