DevLog - January

DevLog - January

Hey hey everyone. Long time no see, I guess. A lot has happened since my last blog post, and even though I'm not definitely returning since I still need to automatize some workflows in my content generation and broadcasting process, I think a DevLog of what I have been doing during these months would be nice to keep you up to date of the last changes in my life. So, enough of the introduction and let's get to it.

Presenting Scan Documents

Every day we are moving more and more things to computers, and digitalization has become an important part of the process. To ease this experience I decided to create a new application that helps to digitalize documents like books, ID/Passports, and any other documents.

Sorry for the initial delay while uploading, a new optimization feature from yesterday affected that 😅

The application will have a free anonymous access tier, where everybody will be able to scan their documents completely free and offline. On the other hand, there will be a paid plan with more advanced features and online sync and processing support.

IMG Processing

IMG Processing is a tool to integrate image processing, analysis, and edition, in applications with ease. Almos a half of a year has passed since its release and I'm still implementing new awesome features to it.

The last changes were the implementation of a extract-text endpoint, that uses OCR and AI to detect text on a image of any kind and return its lines.

Moreover, I did some minor enhancements on the watermark endpoint to allow repetition of watermarks across the axis of the images they are applied.

Finally, January was a great month for IMG Processing, with more than 17 active users, despite no one has subscribed yet.

SignatureAPI

SignatureAPI is a high volume digital signature platform released on March of the last year, and my current engineering job.

SignatureAPI™ — Electronic Signature API
Integrate legally binding e-signatures into your apps and workflows. Built for high-volume use and priced at just $0.10 per envelope. Start for free today.

Since the company is rising capital and I dunno if I'm allowed to say figures publicly, I won't say figures, but I'm happy with the success of the platform handling the volumes that are being handled right now. And this has been seen on the comments of the customers

You’re so far the best in the business and I’m glad I found you.
I'm very pleased with SignatureAPI and how we have been able to integrate it into our new SaaS app.
Congratulations for the stability of your service, we are very happy with you.

Additionally, there were more features, but since they were too technical probably I will talk about them on next posts in a generic way so the solutions can be applied to any similar situation.

More Projects

Other projects has reborn the last months.

  • AI Jose Gregorio has been updated and now is faster and smarter.
Presenting AI José Gregorio: A Lifesaver in The Midst of Crisis
In the midst of a health crisis in Venezuela, a hero has emerged. Not a doctor, not a nurse, but an AI. Meet AI José Gregorio, a medical assistant using Large Language Models (LLM) and trained with medical datasets. This AI-powered medical assistant was created to provide much-needed assistance to
  • I'm planning an update of StepCode, to support more languages additionally to Spanish, and probably integrate a copilot agent that helps students without give them directly the answers.

  • And the huge announcement: I'm evaluating many tools like animotion and motion-canvas, to automatize the creation of motion graphics in order to start an awesome YouTube channel where I will publish content similar to my posts (well, in fact, they will be extracted from here hehe)

The Future

I plan to return to generate weekly or even bi-weekly content pretty soon. I'm still tuning some automation tools like Buffer to have a good process that helps me to generate content in a good, consistent way, without interfering with my job, side projects, and personal life. It won't be easy, but I will achieve it.

Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope to see you again in the next post!
