DEVLog - August

DEVLog - August

Last month was an exceptionally fruitful period during which I not only initiated new projects and acquired valuable knowledge but also took a step back from the demanding recruitment processes. Inspired by these experiences, I made the decision to launch a new section on my blog dedicated to documenting the progress of my projects.

Through this section, I hope to create an interactive community where fellow enthusiasts, learners, and professionals can engage in discussions, exchange ideas, and provide constructive feedback. By inviting you to join me on this journey, I aspire to foster a collaborative environment that encourages continuous growth.

Welcome AI José Gregorio

Undoubtedly the most relevant project last month was AI José Gregorio. A medical assistant implemented using AI.

The application developed with React Native in the frontend, and making use of a backend service programmed in Python to interact with the LLM, was a great achievement to implement, being the main problem to solve the amount of resources needed and the concurrency of users.

josegregorio.lat had a relatively good acceptance, with more than 100 users in the first week, more than 500 visits, and 2000 requests

The first three days after the launch were the best for the application, however it was full of small bugs that I was solving with time. As of today it can be considered stable and ready to move to the next step in case the interest for the application improves.

On the other hand, since it was made in react-native, porting the app to mobile platforms is too easy, and a app was submitted to Google Play, being currently under approval process.

Me starts to shine

Me is an application that helps people to set and track goals and interests, while also facilitating connections with like-minded individuals who share similar passions.

Currently in its early stage of development, the application primarily focuses on goal creation and management. However, after fixing all the bugs of the current version and launching it, I think we are ready to go for a V1. Later I can add the interest section, and finally the social network section.

The app will be launched with 2 languages (Spanish and English), two themes (dark and light), and completely free (maybe with optional ads). I expect to send the V1 the first half of September and this one being published on Google Play by the end of the month.

Job search break

The job search period can be incredibly frustrating and challenging. It often entails a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from excitement and anticipation to disappointment and frustration after being rejected just because the country you are located at is the devil of the countries.

Last month I decided to take a break, rest, breath, and dedicate my time to my projects. Maybe the best decision I could have made.
